LIT - Student Life
Joining a club or society is a fantastic way to make new friends and meet people with similar interests. Involvement in a club or society also helps develop other valuable skills alongside your academic skills.

LIT has a vibrant clubs and societies scene, ensuring that many interests (sporting or non-sporting) are catered for. Clubs and societies include:

  • Hurling
  • Men’s and ladies’ rugby
  • Soccer
  • Boxing
  • Basketball
  • Environmental Society
  • Media Production Society
  • Photography Society
  • International Society
  • Music Society
  • DJ Society
  • Movie Society

Make sure you find out about the many clubs and societies you can join during Freshers’ Week. This takes place at the beginning of each academic year and is the main recruitment time for clubs and societies, when you can find out more about their activities and sign-up. New clubs and societies are always encouraged.

One of LIT’s most popular clubs is the Outdoor Club. Every week they have something new and exciting for members to try whether it’s stand-up paddleboarding, caving, surfing or kayaking.
